about icy delights
a family tradition
Icy Delights is co-owned and operated by two sisters, Nicole Bilbrough and Kathleen Sanger.
Nicole started working as an employee at Icy Delights in 2006. Back then, it was known as “Jim and Kim’s Icy Delights,” a snowball stand that served tasty summer treats to the residents of Centreville and Queen Anne’s County. It also coincidently, sat in front of the Western Auto owned and operated by Nicole and Kathleen’s dad Jeff Sanger.
Then, in 2008 when she was a senior in high school, Nicole was able to purchase the snowball stand, and began running the business as a way to pay for her college education. Nicole ran and operated Icy Delights through college, driving home to Centreville from Salisbury University every spring to serve snowballs on those nice early spring days. She would run Icy Delights each summer, successfully putting herself through school. Meanwhile, Kathleen (who is 10 years younger than Nicole) was just a kid who loved hanging out with her big sister at Icy Delights!
When Kathleen was old enough, she took over the day-to-day operations of Icy Delights, and was able to pay for her college tuition at Salisbury University as well! Along the way, Kathleen built a strong relationship with the town and her loyal customer base. She is currently known around Centreville as “the snowball girl” and has everyone’s orders and favorite flavors memorized!
In 2023, Nicole and Kathleen bought the Snow Truck, expanding their brand and providing them the opportunity to take their business on the road, extending their offerings to birthday parties, festivals, weddings, and more.
Today, Nicole and Kathleen run the Icy Delights stand on East Water Street and the Snow Truck together. They started an annual scholarship in 2021 to help give back to the community who has been so loyal to Icy Delights over the years.
All in the family.
